A high-powered meeting of stakeholders made up of Shippers and Freight Forwarders was recently held with the Management of Nigerian Shippers’ Council in Lagos.
The meeting which was well attended, was to deliberate on modalities towards the implementation of the recent Presidential Directives on the ease of doing business in the country.
Addressing the meeting, the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Mr. Hassan Bello called on the stakeholders to work towards ensuring trade facilitation in line with the Presidential Directives.
He requested the stakeholders to come up with suggestions on how best to facilitate trde through the Nigerian ports.
The meeting among other things looked at certain factors that are capable of standing on the way towards the actualization of the directives.
Present at the meeting were members of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Association of Nigerian License Customs Agents (NACLA), Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding In Nigeria (CRFFN), Association of Registered Freight Forwarders in Nigeria (AREFFN), Shippers Association Lagos State (SALS), among others.
