Stakeholders’ Representation Services

·        Negotiates and agrees with service providers on the quality of services and charges payable in accordance with local and international standards,

·        Represents Shippers’ interest in Local and International shipping and trade-related fora and Organisations.

The Council offers the following services:

  • Represents stakeholders’ interest in local and international shipping and trade related fora and organizations such as International Maritime Organization (IMO), World Trade Organisation (WTO),Maritime Organizations of West and Central Africa (MOWCA), Union of African Shippers’ Councils (UASC) and United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD); International Chamber of Commerce (ICC); Global Shippers Forum (GSF); Air Freight Stakeholders Forum (ASF).
  • Negotiates with hauliers for the review of haulage rates and monitors compliance with such rates;
  • Consults and negotiates with the various stakeholders with the aim of reviewing various port charges and abrogation of unjustifiable charges in order to improve and attract patronage to Nigeria ports.
