The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Barr. Akutah Pius, MON has received the World Customs Organization (WCO) 2024 Merit Award.
The award was in recognition of the Council’s role as the nation’s Port Economic Regulator.
The World Customs Organization Merit Award was presented to the NSC boss by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola.
In his good will messages at the program, the NSC boss felicitated with the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi for celebration of this year’s edition of World Customs Day.
Barr. Akutah wants Customs and other government agencies to work as a team to actualize the Federal Government’s target which is aimed at growing the economy.
He commended the CG of Customs Adewale Adeniyi for his leadership qualities and Nigeria Customs’ contributions to the economy. Other recipients of the award include, the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mallam Bello Koko, the Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), among others.
