Flag-off Ceremony for the Standard Gauge Rail, which facilitates cargo movement from Apapa Lagos to Moniya in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The Executive Secretary/CEO of Nigerian Shippers Council, Akutah Pius Ukeyima, Esq., MON, FCILT, FInsTA, Ph.D., attended the flag-off ceremony for the Standard Gauge Rail, which facilitates cargo movement from Apapa Lagos to Moniya in Ibadan, Oyo State.

This significant partnership between APM Terminals and the Nigeria Railway Corporation will enhance cargo transportation and substantially reduce transport costs.

During the event, Dr. Akutah, emphasized that APM Terminals serves as a leading example in the development of transport infrastructure within the country.

The NSC boss, noted that the initiative by the Nigeria Railway Corporation and APM Terminals is a positive step towards easing congestion at the ports.

NOTING FURTHER the unlawful and dilatory practice wherein shipping companies withhold operational approvals or decisions under the pretext of awaiting instructions or authorization from foreign parent companies or principals.
