Inland Dry Port is a Catalyst for Industrial Growth, Employment Creation & Revenue Generation-  HE, Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine & Blue Economy

The Inland Dry Port  (IDP) project  is a catalyst for  industrial development, employment creation  and revenue  generation in Nigeria. The Honourable Minister of  Marine & Blue Economy, His Excellency,  Adegboyega  Oyetola, has said. He stated this at the ground breaking  ceremony of Gateway Inland Dry Port  in  Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area, Ogun State, as he also re- affirmed the Federal Government’s  commitment to develop Inland Dry Port projects  in the country.

 The Minister, who commended the State Government for the pivotal role it has played on the project, called on the Nigerian Shippers’ Council to work closely with the host state government and stakeholders inoder to aid the development of Gateway Inland Dry Port project.

In his address,  the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun said the State  placed the development of  Dry Port at the forefront  since their assumption of office. Prince Abiodun  also harped on the importance of Gateway Inland Dry Port project in the State .

” This dry port project is a testament of my administration’s commitment to make Ogun State a business haven. The project will aid industrial activities and address  hardship of travelling to Lagos for shipping businesses”, he said.

Also speaking, His Royal Highness, the paramount ruler of Yewa Land, Kehinde  Olugbenle, expressed delight that the  ground breaking ceremony  of Gateway Inland Dry Port became a reality.

He called on the  Federal government to expedite actions on the  construction of the road to the port.

Ogun State Commissioner of Transport, Hon. Gbenga Dairo, described the Gateway Inland Dry as a laudable initiative of the State Government and appreciated key players’s role in the project.
