National Assembly, Port Stakeholders To Develop SOPs Clearing Charitable Items.

As part of efforts to address the bottlenecks leading to delays in clearing charitable items at Nigerian Ports, the National Assembly and Portsstakeholders have initiated plans to develop a simple and efficient Standard Operating procedure (SOP) to ensure ease of shipping and clearing of charitable items in the country.

This position was taken at summit organized by the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC)in collaboration with the office of the Deputy Senate President with the theme: ‘’Ease of Shipping and Clearance of Charitable Items in Nigeria’’

The committee set up to constitute the SOPs includes representatives from the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs ,Disaster Management and Social Development ,United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs,  Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA),among others.
