Shippers’ Council collaborates with ICC, call for more Sensitization of Stakeholders on INCOTERMS 2020

Poised to facilitate legitimate trade and create awareness among stakeholders in the maritime industry, the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has sought the collaboration of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in the sensitization of stakeholders on International Commerce terms (incoterms)2020.

The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Council Mr. Hassan Bello made the call during a courtesy visit to the ICC office recently in Lagos, following the review of the incoterms 2020 which has already been published by ICC.

Bello, who was represented by the Director, Consumer Affairs, Chief Cajetan Agu stated that the visit was to collaborate with the ICC in the areas of trade facilitation and also to create awareness on the new incoterms 2020 among stakeholders in the shipping industry in line with both organization’s mandates.

In her response, the Secretary General of ICC, Mrs. Olubunmi Osuntayi, congratulated the Shippers’ Council for their impact and relationship with international bodies and its position in protecting the interest of stakeholders to ensure they are not taken for granted.
