His Words:  any truck driver that violate the Presidential’ Order will face the music’’.

Bello, who was represented by the Director, Legal Services of the Council, Mr.  Samuel Vongtau, expressed optimism that the aspiration of the committee will address anomalies that characterise Apapa ports’ access roads.

Also speaking, the Director, Inland Transport Services (DITS), Mr. Akintunde Makinde, said the Federal government has commenced moves to engage rail for the movement of containers to hinterland which will assist to address the ports’ congestion.

nt because NSC is Port Economic Regulator, and also a representative of users and providers of shipping services.  For now, NSC is not participating in the review and the Council is a representative of so many things. You cannot have meaningful port concession agreement without the inputs of Shippers’ Council.  I am aware that the Federal Ministry of Transportation is looking into this because we have to take care of the interest of all port users.”
