The Nigerian Shoppers’ Council ( NSC) has unveiled plans to commence the full paperless operation by August, 2024 in a bid to aid effective service delivery as the nation’s Port Economic Regulator.
The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Council, Barr. Akutah Pius. MON stated this at the opening ceremony of 2024 Management Retreat in Abeokuta, Ogun State, recently.
The Theme of the three- day management retreat was tagged” Unlocking Potentials of Marine and Blue Economy for Rapid National Economic Development”
Barr. Akutah said that paperless operations has come to stay in the Council.
According to him, the NSC remains determined to make significant contribution to the development and implementation of a national policy on Marine & Blue Economy.
The Chief Executive also harped on capacity development for staff to assist the realization of the agency’s plans.
In his address, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency. Prince Dapo Abiodun applauded Nigerian Shippers’ Council for the development of Transport infrastructure projects.
He was represented by the Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi.. The Governor said Shippers’ Council is critical in actualizing the aspirations of the Ministry of Marine & Blue Economy.
The Director, Strategic Planning & Research Department of the Council, Mr. Olurotimi Anifowose gave a presentation titled ” The NSC Strategic Plan :The journey so far”.
Anifowose also gave a comparative analysis of the 2023 strategic plans and the strategic plans for 2024.
Prof. Adesola Osibona, a lecturer at the University of Lagos gave a presentation tagged ” Repositioning the NSC: :The imperatives of Economic Regulation in Marine & Blue Economy”, He highlighted the opportunities in Marine & Blue Economy.
Prof Adesola also spoke extensively on the Marine & Blue Economy, its components and other array of issues.
