TRAFFIIC REPORT, IKORODU ROUTE 9/12/2020
Ikorodu to Mile 12 was quite busy this morning . From the take off point, Maalo Ikorodu, the road was quite something else. Mile 12 to Anthony Village was a bit betttrr. Having left Anthony, we started with another Traffic up to Ijora while we spent hours on this traffic.
After leaving Ijora, the road was free to Apapa. We got to the office at exactly 9.30 a.m.
TRAFFIC REPORT, IKORODU ROUTE, 7/12/2020
Ikorodu was tight this morning from Maalo , Ikorodu where I joined the bus. We followed this to Ketu. The cause of the traffic is on-going construction work of BRT Lane at Mile 12 International Market. We got to Ketu. at exactly 8.05 a.m.
Ketu was moving slowly up Mary. Immediately we left Maryland, we started following another traffic down to the National Stadium, Surulere. Surulere was free from Alaka to Ipori while this resumed agai from onward Custain.
Custain to Apapa was something else as we started with another traffic at Ijora up to Apapa.
Trafiic Report, Ikorodu Route 4/12/2020
Ikorodu to Ajegunle was free. Immediately we got to Owode Onir, we started following the traffic due to the ongoing construction of BRT Lane at Mile 12 International Market. The commercial drivers who are impatient, starred taken one way to worsen the situation. we spent more than two hours from Ikorodu to Ketu.
Surprisingly, Ketu to Anthony was as free as anything but when when we got to Fadeyi. It was something else. Fadeyi Ijora was free but Ijora to Apapa Wharf Road was moving slowly due to trucks that parked along the road causing obstruction. We got to the office at exactly 9.23 a.m.]

Today I was going to the studio at Ojuelegba to do our production work.
Due to the serious traffic situation in Lagos I left home early and I had to break my trip into 3 batches to help me avoid traffic and to reach on time , but despite all I still entered traffic at Apple junction in Amuwo odofin local government area , which took 30 minutes for us to leave the traffic .
Getting to my next bustop in 2nd Rainbow , where I took a bus to Orile I also encountered another serious traffic which took 40minutes to find our way out and get to Orile .
I entered another bus to Ojuelegba and we passed through Surulere and still got into another traffic around Shita , we moved slowly and steady until we got to my final destination which I alighted from the bus and trek down to the studio .
Another stressful day in Lagos 😔😔

What A TERRIBLE DAY 😔
I stay in Festac Town , my bus stop is usually the first takeoff point when going to work , the staff bus picked me up by 6:30am at 311 junction , then moved round Festac to pick other staff then we started our journey to work.
We started encountering traffic from Amuwo odofin close to Apple junction, the traffic was very terrible as we spent close to an hour there,
Moving slowly we passed the traffic as we continued moving free , not untill we reached Mile2 housing estate where there was another standstill and very slow movement which took us another hour .
The movement was very slow as we all moved like snails lined from different location looking for a way to manover the traffic , the atmosphere that day was hot and noisey as different horn of vehicle and wailing of people was all over the place which was disturbing,
Coming down the Mile2 bridge that we link us to Orile express road was also tight with slow movement , which also took 30 minutes, moving slowly we reached Signal barracks where the traffic came to an end and the cause of the traffic was due to the bad road under the bridge and piled up containers packed and was occupying part of the express road .
From Signal barracks down to Apapa and to Shippers’tower there was a free traffic ride .
What a day in Lagos .

This was caused by faulty commuter bus that abstructed the road.
The road was free from Ajegunle down to Mile 12 . Mile 12 to Ketu was not free due to on-going construction of BRT road. This was hetic up to Ketu Bus Stop. Ketu to Maryland. Maryland up to Fadeyi was something else. There was slow vehicular movement. Fadeyi to Yaba was free.
Yaba, down to Costain was free while we met the traffic at Ijora. Surprisingly, Ijora to Apapa port access road was free.

TRAFFIC REPORT ON WEDNESDAY 11/11/2020
Lagos traffic is so snarled and gridlocked that a recent trip from Ikoyi to Iyana Oworo took over an hour. That is more than the time required to travel from Lagos to Abeokuta all things being equal.
Welcome to traffic and travel Lagos-style, where the roads are clogged and millions of commuters are choked with frustration about the daily hassle in Nigeria’s most populous city and economic hub.
It was around 5:30pm on Wednesday (11/11/2020), we had attended an event at the Golden Gate Restaurant, Ikoyi and were returning to our respective homes. So we decided to hitch a ride in a private car. Not long into the journey, we encountered a heavy traffic congestion on Osborne road. The traffic continued as we drove on 3rd Mainland Bridge and we were stuck for long despite following the best route suggested to us by one of the traffic apps. There is light at the end of the tunnel so the saying goes and so we kept to track hoping that at any moment then, we were going to emerge from the “terrific” traffic but it seemed the end kept drifting further.
Tempers within the vehicle became flared especially at the driver’s failure to quickly grasp the language of the app. The situation was so frustrating and enervating we started getting out of the vehicle one after the other to take one chance with public transportation. I was the first to get down at Iyana Oworo. Two of my colleagues later came down as well and found their way home.
I heaved a sigh of relief after I got down and quickly boarded a bus going to Iyana Ipaja but damn! I got into the worst traffic congestion ever. It was a complete standstill for hours as if the roads were under lock or blocked. To worsen the situation, the tyre of the bus became flat. While it was being changed, I joined another bus going to Egbeda since that was closer to my destination. I finally got home some minutes to 12am completely worn out. What a long day! Lagos enh!!!
TRAFFIC REPORT FROM APAPA ON 16/11/2020
Traffic is one of the major problems on the roads of Lagos city. This is largely due to the ever rising population which leads to increase in the number of vehicles on the roads. Apapa, one of the cities in Lagos State is characterized by heavy trucks, several tank farms, commercial banks and a number of ports and terminals. The combined effect of these infrastructure result in traffic congestion and effectively makes the road sometimes difficult to access.
- TRAFFIC GOING HOME
The bus departed the office premises at 4:20pm and went through Arakan Barack and Bonny way. There was free flow of traffic up to Ijora Bridge where slight traffic was experienced. The bus came to a halt at Fadeyi bus stop to pick up someone. Further into the journey, another slight traffic was encountered along Ikorodu road specifically from Obanikoro to Anthony. Thereafter, there was uninterrupted movement for about 18 minutes before the bus drove into a heavy traffic congestion at Ikeja. The congestion was as a result of vehicle traffic from two perpendicular directions. It took 24mins for the bus to finally emerge from the traffic. There wasn’t much traffic congestion between Ikeja and Iyana Ipaja. The bus arrived Iyana Ipaja at 6

- TRAFFIC TO WORK
The bus departed Iyana Ipaja at 7am and joined the traffic on the main road which connects Iyana Ipaja to Oshodi. There was normal flow of traffic unlike the usual heavy traffic that is often experienced in the mornings. The bus went on its usual route through Ikeja, Ikorodu road and Murtala Mohammed Way. After covering some distance, it turned right to Apapa road, Ebute Metta then drove through the National theatre compound. However, it wasn’t a smooth journey all through as the bus met with a slow traffic on Apapa-Ijora Bridge at 8:15am. The traffic lasted for about twenty minutes and the bus finally arrived in the office, everyone in one piece.
- TRAFFIC GOING HOME
The bus departed the office premises at 4:20pm. As is the case most times, there was slow traffic on the Apapa-Ijora Bridge up to Alaka. Thereafter, it was a smooth journey from Alaka all the way to Maryland where the bus stopped briefly at two traffic lights. After then, it was a smooth cruise to Agege motor way before meeting a major traffic that spanned a long distance. The drive from Agege motor way to Iyana Ipaja was about forty three minutes due to the traffic congestion. The bus arrived Iyana Ipaja..

REPORT OF TRAFFIC TO WORK
I set out of home (Surulere) to work at 7:20 am and today, the traffic was as usual. I arrived the Eric Moore road at 7:50 am, I proceeded on the road slowly and I emerged on the Eric Moore at 8:01 am. To avoid ‘stories that touch’, I took the Ijora route where trailers are parked, the road leading to Apapa from the said route has been taken over by trailers for a while now, so I had to navigate my way through a muddy path and to join the other lane leading to Apapa. To avoid the Ajegunle traffic, I took the dockyard route and emerged under the bridge leading to Apapa, a terrible and rough path but a better option than joining the Ajegunle traffic. I arrived work in one piece thankfully but with a muddy car!

REPORT OF TRAFFIC FROM WORK
I set out of work (Shippers’ Towers, Apapa) , a little later than usual. I took the Mobil road route since the Apapa bridge is usually frightful at the close of work. The road was a bit packed up by workers returning home, but it was not all bad. The traffic was tolerable and easy to navigate. I arrived the Eric Moore bridge, but a trailer had broken down on the bridge, I rerouted to follow the National Theatre route and emerged on the bridge leading home. The route was free, and I arrived home safely!
23rd October, 2020
I set out from home (Surulere) to work as usual with hopes of arriving work by 8, well, I was greatly mistaken. The traffic today was more intense than usual. I arrived at Eric Moore street 8:03 am where I witnessed a scuffle involving Police officers, LASTMA officers, and a danfo bus driver. At 8:30 am there was a bit of a panic situation in the standstill traffic as we (myself, a colleague, and my sister) heard gunshots at 8:35 am, tensions began to abate as we drove past the drama. Traffic was light on the Eric Moore bridge leading to Apapa, due to the blockage on the road leading to Apapa from Eric Moore Bridge, we opted to drive by the National Theatre to join the Ijora 7Up bridge. We were met with a standstill traffic situation caused by a truck accident. Rerouting to the bridge leading to Apapa did not work for us, so we drove back to Eric Moore Bridge (the route we were initially avoiding). We arrived at Eric Moore Bridge at 9:52 am where the traffic was tolerable and moving. As we drove past the opposite side of the place the trailer accident occurred, we parked to take photos of the scene of the accident at 10:03 am. Turned out to be an accident involving not just one car but three other cars. I arrived at work, finally!

REPORT OF TRAFFIC TO WORK
I set out from home (Surulere) to work at 7:50 am, a little later than usual with worries of arriving late. To my greatest surprise, there was no traffic on my usual route! Talk about the unpredictability of Lagos roads! In 10 minutes, I emerged on the Apapa bridge leading to work. I was met by a little traffic on the Mobil road, but it was not as terrible as it usually is. I joined the moving traffic and in a little while, I arrived work and sprinted up to my office feeling lucky. Why do I feel lucky you might ask? Well, not meeting any traffic on my way to work in this traffic filled days felt like a sign of a beautiful week ahead!

REPORT OF TRAFFIC FROM WORK
I set out from work at 4:10 pm, I took my normal route (Mobil road) leading to Surulere, I emerged on the Apapa bridge leading to the Ijora 7Up bridge. There was a bit of traffic on the bridge, but it was tolerable. As we drove past, we discovered the reason for the traffic. Apparently, two trucks collided, one carrying fuel and the other carrying goods. We moved past the accident and advanced towards the Eric Moore Bridge, the road was free, and I arrived home soon after!
TRAFFIC REPORT TO APAPA ON 02/10/2020
Mode of Transportation: Staff bus
The bus departed Iyana Ipaja at 7:08am. As usual, there was traffic congestion on the Iyana Ipaja to Oshodi road but this time, it was heavier than previous days. It took the bus one hour to move from Iyana Ipaja to Ikeja along. The congestion dwindled for a while before the bus met with a slight and brief traffic on the Ikeja Bridge. Afterwards, the road became less busy; this gave the bus a smooth drive from Ikeja to Murtala Muhammed Way before encountering another traffic congestion which lasted few minutes.
The last traffic congestion was experienced on the Apapa-Ijora Bridge. The bus emerged from this traffic to join normal traffic flow along Mobil road after twenty minutes. The bus went through Arakan barracks and finally arrived in the office safely.

TRAFFIC REPORT FROM APAPA ON 10/10/2020
Mode of Transportation: Staff bus
It was a very hectic journey going home. Only five minutes into the journey that started 4:20pm, an intense traffic jam was encountered. Vehicular movement was restricted to an extent it was almost a standstill. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say it was the worst experience of traffic congestion since after the lockdown. The congestion spanned the whole length of the bridge from Ijora to Alaka.
When the bus was near the end of the bridge, a truck was seen to have broken down by the side of the road. The bus finally emerged from the traffic jam immediately it moved past the truck. This was after two hours, twenty minutes. There wasn’t much traffic congestion from the end of the bridge up to PWD, Ikeja where another traffic jam was encountered. From PWD, Ikeja, it took the bus about one hour, twenty minutes to arrive at Iyana Ipaja.
