It was a moment of joy as three principal management offices of Nigerian Shippers’ Council received the Role Model Award at this year’s edition of Women in Logistics and Transport (WILAT Nigeria) Award Night held at the Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria, Lagos.
The recipients from the Council include the Director, Human Resources Management, Mrs. Adaku Victoria Okam, the Director, Abuja Liaison Office, Hajia Karimatu Othman, and the Deputy Director, Data Analysis and Tariff Administration, Mrs. Margaret Ogbonna.
Addressing the Shipper shortly after the programme, Mrs. Margaret Ogbonna expressed delight for the honor by WILAT Nigeria.
‘‘One lesson I learned from the Award is that whatever you are asked to do, try to put in commitment and deliver a good job’’, she said.
It is a great honour that NSC got three nominees for WILAT’s Award’’, she added.
Also speaking with the Journalists, the former Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hajia Bala Usman, who received the WILAT Nigeria Amazon Award, said Women should be supported to excel and attain enviable positions in the maritime industry.
Dignitaries present at the occasion include Chief Teete Owusu- Nortey, Chartered Institute of Transport CILT) International President- Elect, WILAT Global Deputy Chairperson, Doreen Owusu- Fianko, WILAT Global Vice and Chairperson, North West Africa, Mrs. Folake Soji- George.
