Shippers’ Council’s staff, family and friends of Matron Olayinka Ogbaro thronged at the NSC’s Headquarters in Apapa, Lagos to felicitate with her as she attained the mandatory retirement age of sixty year.
Matron Olayinka Ogbaro joined the Nigerian Shippers’ Council on 15th March 1999 as a Nursing Officer. Through unflinching dedication, focus and commitment, she rose to the position of matron at the apex regulatory agency.
In his key note address, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Council, Barr. Akutah Pius Ukeyima, MON lauded Matron Ogbaro for her dedication and passion for the chosen career. He was represented by the Director, Regulatory Services Department, Mrs. Margaret Ogbonnah. The NSC boss enjoined other members of staff to emulate matron Ogbaro exemplary work ethic and leadership style, noting that the Council will miss the retiree’s professional guidance as medical expert.
The representative of the NSC’s Management, Mrs. Moji Adeniji spoke on the retiree’s humility, good disposition and empathy for others. She also described her as God fearing woman who has nurtured members of staff to spiritual growth and maturity in Christ.
In his contribution, the President, Nigerian Shippers’ Council Staff Cooperative Multipurpose Limited, Mr. Olaolu Adeyemi also spoke on her humility and the contribution made to the society.
The representative of the Senior Staff Association, Mr. Vincent Nkwocha emphasized Matron Ogbaro’s diligence in the discharge of her duties.
In her response, Matron Olayinka Ogbaro expressed profound appreciation to the NSC’s boss and the management for organizing the programme.
