The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Barr. Akutah Pius, MON has received an award from NTA International.
This award bestowed on the Council’s CEO is tagged “Exemplary Leadership in Business Award” in recognition of his immense contribution to the nation’s maritime industry as Port Economic Regulator.
Presenting the award to Barr. Akutah in Lagos on Friday, the Executive Producer, Business Forum, NTA International, Prince Kanu Chukwuma said that the Council’s boss deserves an award of this nature for the milestone achievements recorded by the ES/CEO since his assumption of office.
In his response, the ES/CEO of NSC, Barr. Akutah Pius appreciated the NTA International for the award, stating that he accepted the award wholeheartedly based on the compliments by the press on his contribution to national development.
“I always do a background check, consult and dialogue with my management before accepting awards from any organization, taking into consideration the importance or value of the award to the Council”, he said.
Speaking, the Director, Strategic Planning and Research Department of the NSC, Mr. Olurotimi Anifowose said the ES/CEO deserves the award, considering his impactful role and success story.
“If it were possible for us as a Council to officially give the ES/CEO an award, we would have done that. The award is a wake-up call to the Council to do even more and also appreciate a visionary leader who has greatly transformed our esteemed organization”, he said.
Also speaking, the Director, Human Resources Management Department of the Council, Mrs. Ada Okam applauded the ES/CEO for his humility, tolerance, hard work and innovation, acknowledging the fact that she is not surprised by the award that was given to him.
