It was indeed a celebration galore as Management and Staff of Nigerian Shippers’ Council honoured Mr. Christian Osita Chimezie who retired from Service after attaining the mandatory sixty years retirement age.
Throughout his Career, Mr. Chimezie held several key positions, including Area Officer, Zonal Officer, eventually retiring as Deputy Director.He was praised by colleagues for his intelligence and work ethic.
Representing the Executive Secretary/ CEO of Nigerian Shippers’ Council,The Director Inland Transport Services , Ify Okolue , extended appreciation and congratulations to Mr. Chimezie for his outstanding service to the organization. Mr. Tennyson Nneji, speaking on behalf of the staff, applauded the retiree’s dedication, noting his significant contributions to the agency’s success.
The event featured a cake-cutting ceremony, after which a toast was raised in his honour. Mr. Chimezie was presented with gifts from the Council and individuals as a sign of appreciation. He also received a Retiree ID card and a Certificate of Service in recognition of his many years of service.
In his speech, Mr. Chimezie expressed his joy to have completed the service , encouraging staff to give their best and work as a team and move the Council forward.
Giving the vote of thanks ,Mrs. Florence Nwopara , expressed her profound gratitude to the Executive Secretary ,Barr. Pius Akutah , for supporting the event and appreciated the celebrant and his family for attending.
