Osun Agog, as Shippers’ Council Donates Medical Items, Distributes Palliatives to Residents

In line with its policy and commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has donated items valued at millions of Naira to the MDGs Oloti Lagbua Primary Health Center in Iragbiji, Osun State. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of medical services provided to patients at the health center.

The donated items include pediatric hospital bed frames, pediatric hospital mattresses, rechargeable standing fans, solar panel inverters, solar mono panels, solar tubular batteries, a deep freezer, a generator, electric kettles, electric irons, and portable hand fans.

It also features the distribution of palliative items to over 300 residents, aiming to improve their quality of life.

During the event, the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, represented by the Director Special Duties, Mr. Zuberu Mustafa, described the gesture as a mandated effort by the council to support and positively impact the lives of people at the grassroots level.

He explained that Corporate Social Responsibility is a policy that targets critical areas in need of intervention and Iragbiji in Osun State has been identified as a key beneficiary specifically the community requires assistance in providing medical equipment and materials which is the driving force behind this CSR initiative to the area.

Zubairu added that the items and equipment would enable effective medical services to the people and should be properly protected and utilized.

The Southwest Coordinator of the NSC, G.B Muhammed who was also in attendance at the event, thanked the shippers’ Council boss for ensuring the actualization of the CSR at the health center in Iragbiji.

He noted that the gesture has portrayed the Council as a government establishment that prioritizes the interest of the people, especially at the grassroots, noting the efforts of the ES to extend the dividends to another part of the country.

Speaking on behalf of the town, Aragbiji of Iragbiji HRM Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi Odundun IV commended the Nigerian Shippers’ Council for its timely intervention and support to the MDGs health center at Oloti and the food Items distribution to the residents of the community.

Aragbiji applauded the Executive Secretary and CEO of the NSC for his expressed love and commitment to the growth of the town.

He appealed to the residents to optimize the operation of the facility and corroborate the efforts of the personnel to enhance their well-being.
