Port Health Service visits Shippers’ Council …Seeks collaboration, cooperation


A four – man team from Port Health Service led by the Asst. Director in charge of Apapa Port Health, Ogungbayi R. Adeniyi paid a familiarization visit to the Nigerian Shippers’ Council’s Headquarters in Lagos.
The team was received by the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Shippers’ Council Barr. Akutah Pius, MON represented by the Director, Human Resources Management Department, Mrs. Adaku Okam.
In his welcome address, the ES/CEO who appreciated the visit by the Port Health Service, lauded the role they have been playing at the ports in their operations. Akutah affirmed Council’s readiness to work with the new administrator of Apapa Port Health Service.
The new administrator of Apapa Port Health Services, Ogungbayi R. Adeniyi said the essence of the visit is to familiarize himself with NSC being the nation’s Ports Economic Regulator.
He unveiled plans to embark on digitization of their operational activities at the ports to aid processes.
He also sought for Council’s continues cooperation and collaboration towards meeting their incisive aspirations at the ports.
Also speaking, the Director, Regulatory Services Department of NSC, Mrs. Margaret Ogbonna said Nigeria has recorded immense progress in the activities of port health at the port, attributing their seamless operational activities.
