Northeast Zonal Office of Nigerian Shippers’ Council has donated hospital equipment and consumables to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBU-TH) and the Bauchi Specialist Hospital. The Council also donated household materials and consumables to the Bauchi state orphanage.
Speaking during the presentation of the equipment, the Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Basir, said that the gesture was part of the contributions of Council to assist ordinary people.
Bashir explained that the Council is also reciprocating the hospitality, cooperation and support it was getting from the people of Bauchi.
Responding, Chief Medical Director of ATBU-TH, Dr Jibrin Bara, thanked the Council for the gesture and said the donation came at the right time considering the large number of patients trooping into the hospital from across the northeast.
“Today is a special and unique day in the hospital because there are many government agencies in the state but Shippers’ Council is first to come to aid of the hospital with a truck full loaded of equipment.’’
Items donated to the hospitals include hospital beds, mattresses, blankets, towels, rechargeable fans and medical consumables.
