Shippers Council Seeks NNPC support to address $ 1.9.bn annual loss to foreign ship owners.

The Executive Secretary/ Chief Executive Officer Mr. Hassan Bello and Chairman Nigerian fleet implementation, has revealed that Nigeria loses $1.9 billion annually to foreign ship owners.

Bello made the disclosure during the official visit of Nigerian fleet implementation committee to group managing Director of the group National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari while seeking the support of subsidiaries under the corporation toward engaging indigenous shipping companies in their business.

Kyari expressed the corporation readiness to support indigenous fleet owners to enjoy greater patronage and participation in the oil and gas maritime business in Nigeria.
